As you may know, I love to use my hand planes. For a while I’ve been wanting a smoothing plane that was smaller then my No. 4. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Lie-Nielsen No. 2. This is my review of the plane after using it for a few weeks in my shop.

    Test the no 2 into several application that compatible with it and show it a bit longer.. We eager to see the real action of the plane attacking to some wood like oak, mahogany, pine, etc..

    Can you please say if a bronse sole has advantages over steeel one, like less friction with wood or smth else?

    Okay I have a silly question… I have couple crappy block planes I don’t use them I don’t “want” to use them. I have a Veritas low angle jack and a Lie Nielson 41/2. I “want” a Lie Nielson #2. Can they be used in place of a block plane?

    Nice to see other numbers of smoothing planes presented than usual.
    I think that a number two would do well in my shop as well.
    Again another wish on my list of planes.
