My takeaway is that you demonstrate making heirloom planes with tools common in a lot of woodworking shops. That makes emulation possible for your audience without investment in metal fabrication tooling. Well done and thank you!

You did it again! Another beautifully crafted hand plane. I have a question(s). I’ve noticed that in prior videos you’ve applied heat to the 2 part epoxy before fay sealing the components together. Is there a reason why you didn’t do that this time? Or is it not necessary when you are adding attachment screws (that run through the sole of the plane up into the wood fill-body?
Zygmunt Kiliszewskion September 26, 2022 at 3:04 am
The steel surface of the planer guarantees precision and longevity. You presented an impressive process of construction, sharpening and polishing of a planer knife and other assortments. Admirable work, congratulations 👌.
bllouriason September 26, 2022 at 3:05 am
I really like your style of plane! I have been contemplating making one, but the other designs I do not appeal to me. I like that you use screws to secure the sole to the base of the body, then flattened the plane afterwards. Beautiful finish, also.

I’m curious about one detail, how come you didn’t countersink the bottom plates? I would think that the heat generated from leveling the screws would affect the epoxy bond negatively, i may be wrong though. Regardless of that, what a remarkable result, that design of plane is one i would love to have in my own shop.
