Hey Chris, have you upgraded to the new version of SketchUp? If so, are you using the free web version?

  2. Harold Campbell on November 2, 2022 at 3:40 am

    Thank!

  4. Brad Lindsay on November 2, 2022 at 3:41 am

    awesome tutorial

  5. Mark Lutz on November 2, 2022 at 3:41 am

WOW!! I could build 50 pieces of furniture before I could ever learn Sketchup. May as well stick to graph paper. Actually probably quicker…AND MUCH EASIER!

  6. Rodriquez McClatchey on November 2, 2022 at 3:43 am

    is this the paid version

Anyone know how to find Sketchup Make for a new-ish Mac? I am not able to locate a working version. I’ve tried CNET, various other places, even HomeBrew but nothing works.

I have an M1 Mac but it shouldn’t need to run on Apple Silicon, can use Rosetta

  9. Seth Morabito on November 2, 2022 at 3:46 am

It’s so frustrating that SketchUp 2017 is no longer available for download. I’m trying to follow along with this tutorial in SketchUp Free, but it’s a totally different experience. This whole "Software as a Service" model is awful for users.

  10. Random Focus on November 2, 2022 at 3:47 am

Funnily enough this was a better Sketchup tutorial than most dedicated Sketchup tutorials ive seen and more relevant to what i want to use it for! Cheers!

I just lose an hour to search how I can to do the 10,10. I figured out that for me it’s 10;10 to work out the right way… Let’s continue the video now

  12. Mandy Matthews on November 2, 2022 at 3:49 am

Your tutorial is awesome and I love your sense of humor 😆I feel fortunate that my heart needs less focus to keep beating than Sketchup requires 🤣🤣

  13. Siero alf on November 2, 2022 at 3:52 am

Bro you’re marvelous. I appreciate your good work

  14. Staynavytom on November 2, 2022 at 3:55 am

This doesn’t seem to apply to the iPad version. Do you have a tutorial for iPad?

  15. Mark Lutz on November 2, 2022 at 3:56 am

Unfortunately not very helpful if you are not using apple!

  20. Bruce Henry on November 2, 2022 at 4:03 am

I had been using Sketchup for years and until now never understood the difference between grouping and components. 🤦‍♂️

  21. Andre Prudhomme on November 2, 2022 at 4:07 am

Amazing tutorial! I really appreciated you walking through how to create something rather than just explaining the tools.

  22. J Michael Stone on November 2, 2022 at 4:09 am

This is probably a stupid question, but I’m a noob (both to Sketchup and woodworking in general): how do you account for the discrepancy between nominal and actual lumber sizes?

  23. TheThirdMan on November 2, 2022 at 4:10 am

    This was very helpful.

  24. G0LDEN _ C0BR4 on November 2, 2022 at 4:11 am

I do something more, I make the center piece of the leg unique(the one transversal piece between front and back), to be sure it doesn’t have the recess in it

  25. Lonestar on November 2, 2022 at 4:11 am

I’m trying to figure out how, after I’ve created a 2x4x10 piece of lumber, to resize that piece of lumber to a specific size?

  26. Brandon Hart on November 2, 2022 at 4:13 am

can we still download this version of sketchup? All I’m seeing is a browser version that is terrible or $200/400 a year version

  27. Craig Perry on November 2, 2022 at 4:13 am

    Thank you!

  28. Sal Karim on November 2, 2022 at 4:14 am

17:10 Anyone else stuck on this? When I try to make the rectangle on the diagonally opposite corner, I get a view of the front of the box completely covered. I’ve been racking my brain for 45 minutes but can’t figure out how to do this!

  29. Mrki on November 2, 2022 at 4:14 am

I just discovered you, in late 30’s started with sketchup, I like your work so will buckle up and watch.

  30. Martin Dobson on November 2, 2022 at 4:18 am

To be honest, there were some things in your process where I was thinking “oh no! Rookie mistake!” But then you addressed how to fix them in much simpler ways that I would have fixed them. (Flip along X axis instead of rotate tool; for example) I definitely learned something from this. Great video!

  31. David DeJulio on November 2, 2022 at 4:18 am

Thank you. Most useful ad engaging tutorial I’ve come across yet.

  32. Janet Persons on November 2, 2022 at 4:19 am

Do you have any designs with C&C machines.?

  33. TrueDesire Elements on November 2, 2022 at 4:19 am

WOW!!!! I am super grateful… Thanks so much….

  34. Tarkovsky on November 2, 2022 at 4:20 am

20:06 when you do this using the push/pull tool, how is the backside of the rectangle (drawer panel) getting pushed and not the front?!

  35. Scott Hughes on November 2, 2022 at 4:20 am

Is there a way to make the current web version look like 2017, does desktop version look different? I want to follow this video and relearn sketchup but it looks so foreign online.

  36. Geo Lin on November 2, 2022 at 4:21 am

What is command? I’m on Windows 10 PC.

  37. ChillanVillain on November 2, 2022 at 4:22 am

  38. Zelalem Mekonnen on November 2, 2022 at 4:22 am

  44. Daniel Hill on November 2, 2022 at 4:28 am

I’m not able to download the free version. There site says they aren’t offering the free version anymore. Kinda sucks but I’m not sure I want to pay for the service before knowing if I like it.

Anyone have an idea how I could hire someone to create a sketch up for my build out? Need to build a cutting table for my shop and would like to outsource this part. Having a cut list and time saving part would be SO helpful!
