Like a bare canvas to an artist, and like Bob Ross used to say "it’s your little world" lol
Good luck. this will be fun to watch!

  3. Pat M on January 16, 2019 at 8:21 pm

Andy, just wondering what prompted the move and from where? Can’t wait to see the shop come together, green with envy for a space like that and enough head room where I wouldn’t have to duck going thru my doorways. AHHH maybe someday, lol

  4. Mike Fulton on January 16, 2019 at 8:22 pm

As someone who is woodworking out of a one car garage, I’m incredibly jealous of your soon to be basement shop. Good luck

  8. BlakeF on January 16, 2019 at 8:28 pm

Hope you don’t have bentonite clay issues which are very common to Denver or that is an older house where the floor has been sitting 10+ years.

I hope you are seriously looking into LED lighting for your new shop and not just fluorescent lighting. There are so many great benefits with LEDs !!!!
PS: The prices for LEDs has come way down into the affordable range now, i.e.: Home Depot has a 2 pack of 60 watt Phillips LED bulbs for $4.97 (special buy) and the quality of LED bulbs has increased greatly too !!!!!

Good to see a video from you again, quite the monumental task you have there. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. 🙂

  13. Daniel Gardner on January 16, 2019 at 8:38 pm

    Awesome Age of Empires music.

  14. Dan Enge Woodworking on January 16, 2019 at 8:38 pm

Wow, I’d kill for that much shop space. It’s almost as big as my whole house.

  15. John Tenhundfeld on January 16, 2019 at 8:41 pm

You must have a very understanding wife. When we moved into our present house it also had an unfinished basement and I planned to take exactly half of it for my shop. She had other ideas and I wound up with one quarter of it. Still larger than I had previously had in my other 4 shops. Good video and good luck to you. If you want to drool even more over a new shop look at the Woodpecker’s Taj Mahal shop in Canada.

Woah! That’s a huge man cave shop 🙂

So incredibly jealous. Good for you .

  19. Smkgld B on January 16, 2019 at 8:45 pm

So if you build anything big you have to walk it up the steps or is it a walk out basement

  20. The ShavingWood Workshop on January 16, 2019 at 8:46 pm

That looks like it’s going to be a great space for the new shop.

  21. Texas Buckeye Workshop on January 16, 2019 at 8:47 pm

Great Shop update, Great meeting you at W.I.A. Good luck in the future with the new shop, I will be following your shop set up videos and thanks for your valuable advice! Jim (aka) Texas Buckeye Workshop

  22. John Conklin on January 16, 2019 at 8:47 pm

Nothing better than getting to set a shop up from scratch. Congrats!

  23. K Cher on January 16, 2019 at 8:48 pm

    Great space. Grats on move.

  24. Stone and Sons Workshop on January 16, 2019 at 8:48 pm

Good luck with the new space. Can’t wait to see what’s in store!

  25. Jeffrey Vastine on January 16, 2019 at 8:48 pm

Andrew, how are things going now? Is your shop finally set up and good to go?

    Peace!

  26. christschool on January 16, 2019 at 8:48 pm

Please upgrade your dust collector for that space. The one you have is terrible for air quality in a shop. When you get to my age, you’ll be sorry for not having a good dust collector and so will your family and your bank account. You pay for poor health choices beginning in your later 40’s. Its accumulative, believe me! Once you reach the "tipping" point, you can’t go back and your body will not be able to repair itself.

  27. westchalk on January 16, 2019 at 8:51 pm

Great start and welcome to Denver!

  28. deezynar on January 16, 2019 at 8:52 pm

Keep us posted on how the expansion joints fair over time.  I am curious to see if the epoxy filler gets pushed up/out, and if the slabs push against the basement walls.

  29. Jack Bench Woodworking on January 16, 2019 at 8:53 pm

Yeah you’ve got a lot of work to get set up but WOW, 1200 square feet!! I am so jealous.

The Elasti Poxy looks like pretty cool stuff. Does that or the etching compound off gas very much?

  30. Ian Moss on January 16, 2019 at 8:54 pm

Congrats on the great space Andrew! Looking forward to the progress

  31. William Dawson on January 16, 2019 at 8:55 pm

That’s going to be a lot of fun work. Be interesting to see how you select lighting for the shop. I think T8 is cheapest. Of course if your blade works out you can go for LED.

  32. Stuart York on January 16, 2019 at 8:55 pm

I am so envious! it’s so unusual to have the chance to arrange a new shop like this.
    It’s a great space.
    Stuart

  33. A Czep on January 16, 2019 at 8:56 pm

Nice job! Any updates/announcements on your mitre blade?

  34. B Blair on January 16, 2019 at 8:58 pm

Dude…. I am dying to see a new video after this new shop video….. we miss you! Or atleast I miss your content. lol Lets see some more shop progress and hows the saw blade product coming along?

  35. SquirrelFromGradLife on January 16, 2019 at 8:59 pm

I have found that if you use a devise to vibrate the floor while filling with sand it goes in really easy and you can fill even hairline crack really easily. I just used a hammer drill with a large flathead bit made from round stock.

  36. peggyt1243 on January 16, 2019 at 9:00 pm

Congratulations on the new house. Love the basement. Cannot imagine a house without one. Enjoy the space.

  37. J DeWitt on January 16, 2019 at 9:00 pm

Looks like you have quite a bit to do to get the shop how you want it. Does everything have to come down those stairs, or is there another entrance?

  38. Larry Cearlock on January 16, 2019 at 9:01 pm

Andrew, I was wondering how the manufacturing of your  box joint blade  is progressing?  I’m interested in purchasing one when they come available. Your new shop looks to become a real show place congrads and hope you produce many more videos as I really enjoy them. Thanks again Larry

  39. softminimal1 on January 16, 2019 at 9:02 pm

Great space mate, Im just getting into the 2 car garage lol.

  40. Mac n Wood on January 16, 2019 at 9:04 pm

Looks awesome! I sure hope you continue coming the entire process! Looking forward to how you will set everything up 🙂

  41. Nuckelhedd Jones on January 16, 2019 at 9:07 pm

Could have saved a lot of time using a hose and a wet vac to rinse after the etch. Also. POUR the epoxy on the floor and move it around with the roller.

  42. Jim Holladay on January 16, 2019 at 9:07 pm

    Welcome to Denver.

Looking forward to see your new shop and ideas! Greetings from Brazil! (By the way, you sound exactly like Jimmy Kimmel!)

  45. scotmc on January 16, 2019 at 9:12 pm

Welcome to Denver. Does your basement have a sump pump? I know a lot of people that have had water issues in their basements the past few years, me included, and it’s not cheap to put it in after all the drywall and other things are done. Just something to consider.
Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

  46. Eric Duran on January 16, 2019 at 9:12 pm

I dont know if you lived around mountains before? Now that you defiantly do, I have some secrete advice for you because I like you. "No mountain too big for a stepper." Welcome, Im sure you will find Gold in this magical place. No more secretes for awhile. I will probably get in trouble for letting this one out.

  47. Donald Meinstrom on January 16, 2019 at 9:12 pm

Did anyone get Hyezmar’s Woodworking Bible yet? I think he’s still looking for proof readers. At least that’s what read in a blog after googling him.

  48. Dave Raube on January 16, 2019 at 9:16 pm

Congrats on the new shop! Can’t wait to see the finished space. How do you plan to handle the noise? Will that be an issue for your family upstairs?

  49. Ignacio Valle on January 16, 2019 at 9:16 pm

    Greatfull.

  50. MechaTama31 on January 16, 2019 at 9:17 pm
