Woodworking with traditional hand tools is a nice change of pace from working with woodworking power tools and machinery. After a marathon of working in my wood shop I needed to spend some time outside doing something simple. I’ve had a saw blade for a frame saw for years and finally got a notion to make the wooden frame. Most of the work was done on my handmade shaving horse. You can learn more about it here- https://youtu.be/egWASf3b6R0 The main tools used where an axe, froe, draw knife, spoke shave, saws, auger and chisels. The saw is simple, it has two handles and a cross beam. The blade is tensioned with chord by twisting it with a small flat piece of wood, tension is held by the small piece of wood resting on the cross beam, keeping the chord twisted. It basically works like a hack saw. I hope you enjoy the video.

I’ve never seen a brace drill of that design before. Mine have a standard chuck.
I have one with a shoulder brace, hourglass like frame, and a level on it. No markings as to make and model.

  48. J丹🄱🅁丹_モ丹丂ㄚG0`` on February 26, 2023 at 6:51 am

Nice long bench! How to make it bro?

  49. MrDio on February 26, 2023 at 6:56 am

I would recommend to never use steel on steel when splitting wood. My brother got a fingertip sized piece of steel shoot up his forearm. the thing entered and traveled another 2.5 in through the flesh until it stopped. Had to be removed via sugery. Imagine the thing hitting your eye or an artery.
