Disappointed to see you putting the plane down, with the cutting edge on the surface. First rule of planes, always put them on there side, not to dull the edge. I know its a cutting board, but its a habit forming ethos that should be followed. Also, you never know what dust and dirt could be on the cutting board. Otherwise, found the video really useful and informative, so I have now ordered one. Thanks for taking the time to record it!
Nice video, Mike. This plane is similar to the one produced in my country for a really long time. I’ve got one piece for maybe thirty years. ( http://www.narextools.cz/en/hobby-plane-828000 ). I have to agree with you, this is very, very useful tool.
Is the blade depth adjustable? And how deep should the blade be set?

That’s a great little tool and good video. Maybe, demonstration of how to set the plane up would have added more value to the video. Or how about a seperate video for that,?
