Restoration – Stanley 9 1/4 Block Plane
Decided to try my hand at a restoration video. I’m new to the restoration game but I enjoyed it. I used Evapo-Rust and tons of elbow grease.
I didn’t repaint the plane – just wanted it in a clean and working condition.

I am half way through restoring a 9/12, and after watching your video I realised that I am missing two parts on my block plane.
Tip. When you put rhe flat head back into the long lever, put the lever on the hole and then thread it. Otherwise youll wind up with loads of play.
Thats not a low angle. The low angles are 12 degrees. Much lower than that
There is a whole lot you need to learn about restoring a plane.
The 9 1/2 Stanley is not a low Angel block plane .
Why! Why did you strip the original paint and patina! JC 🙂
