in this video I restore an old block plane I got at an antique store. I cleaned up all the rust, repainted some of the parts, and turned a new knob for the plane. I also sharpened the blade and was able to get clean, long, shavings when I was done.

Sure takes some nice heavy shavings. How does it do for fine whispy shavings? Do you just sharpen on the belt grinder, or do you do any sharpening on stones, diamond plates, or fine sandpaper?

That granite top would be a great place to flatten the plane!
