Not very often you see the winning jockey in the Kentucky Derby covered in dirt.
I don’t even watch horse racing or follow the Kentucky Derby but my friend went to the Kentucky Derby this year with her boyfriend so I decided to look up the results. I can’t stop watching the replay of RICH STRIKE striking rich and winning the 2022 Kentucky Derby. What a COMEBACK STORY!! Congrats to Sonny Leon (the Jockey) and his team!! WOW. I’m so happy 🙂
Single A Minor League. He easily won (by a lot) last September on this track. That race was still thought to be not good enough to compete with these. Ignoring horses for courses will get you cut. I didn’t even look at the horse, because he hadn’t run any races that would be fast enough. He hadn’t had a chance to compete against them at this 1 1/4 distance, though. He looked like Zenyatta at the Breeders Cup (at Santa Anita.) This horse was looking right at the leaders.

No one asks about how last years winner was disqualified after failing a drug test and died a few months later … so how did that happen?? Did the horse go out and score some bad crack….No his dirt bag owner/trainer/vet/jockey shot him up with drugs. Racing is the only dirty, satanic, criminal industry that the public applauds and supports. Corrupt to the core. No worries in a few years this horse will be in a kill auction with meat buyers bidding on a price per pound.
yes! the MOST EXCITING 2 minutes in Sports!!! You can feel the electricity in the air from the stands and the crowd too. Not as big as NASCAR, but that takes over 2 hours… all that packed into 2 minutes and a $ 3 million purse to the top 5 finishers. (1.86 mil to the winner)

What a story indeed. Rich Strike’s win in the derby made all of us proud. A horse with a connection to so many people and places. Im also very happy for his sire Keen Ice. And his Manitoba Canada bred dam Gold Strike. Who was champion 3 year old filly in Canada back in 2005. Champions and Winners Run in Rich Strike’s blood.
I can’t get away from this story and I don’t mind. So he wasn’t even supposed to be in the race technically? 😳

50:1 Mine That Bird won May 2, 2009. He came from last place to first place on the last turn and he didn’t barely win, he won with no other horse around him. I love long shots.

As you watch Rich Strike coming down the homestretch, he appears to be wanting to nip at some of the nearby horses there too. He keeps looking off to the right. Fiesty.
