Ridgid R4513 Portable Table Saw with Stand Review

Visit our blog on the Ridgid Portable Table Saw : http://wp.me/p5Qkne-J0
For many of us, our work area is always changing. Be it a jobsite, our basement, workshop or an outdoor project, we need a tool that will adapt to our needs and perform well. Finding a table saw that will work for all of those situations is not always an easy task. In one of our growing shops, we had the need for a nice, powerful table saw that did not take up a lot of room. We still wanted a lot of the fine cutting qualities of a larger saw, but we needed them in a smaller package. While there is always trade offs when trying to buy something that will fit into a small space, we feel the Ridgid R4513 table saw fit the bill very well and left us some money in hand to upgrade the blade. This was important to our growing shop because we need a lot of tools at this point.

QQ, Rigid now has a 4514 and it’s on sale at HD for $350. is this new one better, same, worse than your 4513?? your advice?

  5. Tim Cade on August 30, 2023 at 6:53 pm

  6. Studio2bn on August 30, 2023 at 6:53 pm

Great Videos….I have been looking at the Rigid R4513 and wanted to just double check with you about the dust collection set up on this saw….have you run into any problems as yet with your dust collection ? I had planned to use a large shop vac for dust collection…Thanks for all your time and help….and all the great videos you do !!!

First time to your site. Surely liked your review of the RIGID 4513 portable table saw. I think you sold me….or close to it. thanks for not talking TOO fast. Some reviewers talk SO #($&*&# FAST for Army Vet like me, it is hard to hear and grasp all that is said. Why can’t reviewers know this and act according? Thanks again! Much appreciated.

How is the saw holding up? I like the idea of a portable/storing it when not in use instead of having a big heavy thing eating up shop space all the time

ive got the r45171 and i been using it about 3 months or so.The blade wouldnt lower or raise ended up braking the bevel knob and stripping the plastic bevel gears i blow it out and or run the shop vac after each day so it wasnt anything on my end that caused the issues.I think i just got a bad one out of the bunch should of spent 200 more and got the better one.

  10. 31acruz on August 30, 2023 at 6:57 pm

what the hell dude………..I clicked in to see how to load the blade and you don’t even cover that. WTF? talked about everything under the sun and the most basic thing we do when we buy one you skipped! why did I bother to log in?

  12. KIM JONG UN on August 30, 2023 at 6:57 pm

Dewalt has 32inch right side cut. Dewalt far superior

  13. Joseph Bruce on August 30, 2023 at 6:58 pm

Would you prefer this over the hitachi job site? Both $399 with collapsible stand

  14. A. S on August 30, 2023 at 6:59 pm

how easy is the fence to use ? is it like the Dewalt Rack and Pinion ?

  15. Max on August 30, 2023 at 6:59 pm

What is the arbor width? Can it handle a dado blade?

  16. Guardian Dogo Argentinos on August 30, 2023 at 7:01 pm

So this thing won’t cut 4×4s?

  17. nbuford on August 30, 2023 at 7:02 pm

To bad you didn’t cut some wood to show it’s power.

  19. chuck cavan on August 30, 2023 at 7:08 pm

Does it have a soft start on it?

  20. মাক on August 30, 2023 at 7:11 pm

How can i buy this machine from Bangladesh. Thanks.

  21. icawn on August 30, 2023 at 7:12 pm

The price of this was recently raised from $400 to $500 at HD. I was waiting for the next big sale near $300, but that will never happen now. It isn’t worth $500 and I will not be buying this saw.

  22. Michael Mantell on August 30, 2023 at 7:13 pm

I have one and I like it. The only thing I want to upgrade is the fence. Does anyone know if an aftermarket fence is compatible with this saw?

  23. Matt Fairfield on August 30, 2023 at 7:13 pm

I don’t care to spend the extra money versus the normal rigid compact saw, but god damnit, I need that wheelie stand haha. I know they do that on purpose so you feel like spending the extra $200 or whatever but I can’t justify buying a table saw without a stand like this lol.

  24. Splinter Fingers Woodworking on August 30, 2023 at 7:15 pm

I am considering this phone for a upgrade for myself from my older Craftsman jobsite saw With the stand on this song does the handle set at the same height as the top ? So that it can support wider material

  28. David Davis on August 30, 2023 at 7:20 pm

Do not stand like that behind saw when ripping and suggest you get a good push blocks ;not put your fingers at such risk.

  30. Ken C on August 30, 2023 at 7:23 pm

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I purchased this table saw used and there were a couple of items not listed in the user manual. Specifically I was not able to raise and lower the blade height and ONLY because you posted this video was I able to learn there is a knob to turn the height adjuster. That knob is broken off of my machine and it is broken in such a way that it does not appear that the rotator piece has a broken off knob. I would have NEVER known to turn the specific piece you have to turn had I not found your video. I now have an awesome table saw which I was able to purchase at an AWESOME price

  31. Anto on August 30, 2023 at 7:24 pm

Check the gears in the lifting mechanism. Made out of plastic piece of junk.

  32. AngeliqueKaga on August 30, 2023 at 7:24 pm

Actually the blade I got with my saw wasn’t all that bad.

  33. Aaron Kay on August 30, 2023 at 7:27 pm

Just picked one up on sale for 369, very excited all the reviews i’ve seen everyone seems to like it a lot for the price. My garage is kinda small so I needed something I could move out of the way, the fact I can fold it up is awesome.

I had an R4510 and it was a great saw, the motor burnt up, bummer. I bought a Dewalt DWE7491RS which I was not happy with and returned, and bought the R4513 because I did like the R4510 and am considering returning the R4513 because it is NOT the saw I was wanting. I would not recommend buying this saw. This saw is JUNK compared to its predecessor (R4510)1) When the table is extended it sags (almost 1/4" of play), the old was not as bad2) The miter gauge was a very sturdy 18" with a riveted metal indicator, the new one is 14" and flimsy with a tape increment indicator3) Old has 3/4" fence measure tape, new has 1/2"4) Old had micro adjustment on fence, new does not5) The old saw carriage was cast metal, the new is stamped6) The old deck was 3/16" thick, the new is 3/32"7) The fence on the new saw was not accurate (parallel to blade) and needed adjustment out of box

  37. Jason on August 30, 2023 at 7:32 pm

It’s hard to take your opinion seriously when I see the Ryobi table saw in the background.

  38. Pathfinder on August 30, 2023 at 7:33 pm

Thank you. I’ve been eyeing this saw for a couple months and your vid helped me decide to go with it. I’ll be making the purchase tomorrow.

  39. English Street on August 30, 2023 at 7:34 pm

Hi there mate! I just bought one from a friend and I don’t happen to have the manual to align the blade parallel to de side rails. I’ve watched lots of videos but they only show you how on the other r45s. It shows two knots and then a middle one. Please help me out! I’m getting sloppy “straight cuts”

  40. SarkisianGeorge on August 30, 2023 at 7:36 pm

The question always remains, "Do I buy Ridgid or do I buy Dewalt?" Comparable machines always favor the Ridgid regarding price. Most of the television personality construction shows are using Dewalt table saws and Dewalt Mitre Saws yet from what I can tell, you get more bang for your buck with Ridgid. Do others feel the same way?

  41. Nate Sims on August 30, 2023 at 7:36 pm

Great Saw really like mine. Sucks that you cant make your own throat plates, I had to spend $40 to get one to accommodate a dado stack.

  42. Susan Mooy on August 30, 2023 at 7:37 pm

H Donny. I have the 4510 model which has served me loyally for many years. Recently I was doing some cuts and turned it off between adjustments, etc… When I went to turn it back on…nothing. No power whatsoever. Is there a hidden or well camouflaged reset button im missing ? Ive since misplaced the manual and sure my warranties expired. If its a blown motor I will just buy a new one…shes paid for herself many times over and they are fair priced. If there is a simple(though well hidden)reset button i sure would love to save the embarrassment of taking it to my repairguy…. Thanks for your help.

Great review! Thank you very much!

  44. Migo Migo on August 30, 2023 at 7:40 pm

It’s a great table saw, but the one I have was not square out of the box. I had to make some adjustments. My only issue now, after changing to a thin kerf blade, is that the riving knife is too thick. So things would bind occasionally, which is pretty dangerous. I still have not been able to find a thinner replacement.

  45. English Street on August 30, 2023 at 7:40 pm

Donny, why does mine tilt while I steer ep or down the blade?? It’s giving me poor quality cuts when I have to lower and then raise the blade

  46. lloyd duhaime on August 30, 2023 at 7:40 pm

can the r4517 ridgid saw be used on the stand for the r4513 saw and is it available as a seperate purchase? how much $$

  47. Katykat7777777 on August 30, 2023 at 7:41 pm

    Great little saw!

  48. Brian Marcum on August 30, 2023 at 7:44 pm

I couldn’t see in the video, does the table have tee-slots or are they square?

  49. Joni English on August 30, 2023 at 7:45 pm

any Difference with the R4513 vs R4514 ?

  50. Sankar Krishnan on August 30, 2023 at 7:45 pm

Nice video and review! How would you rate this saw compared to the Ridgid 4571. Also what about the makita 2705? I would like to purchase a good quality saw to build with 2×4,2×6,s 4×4 and standard plywood sheets . Is,the Makita more accurate with cuts?
