RIDGID r4514 – Router table insert for table saw and fence extension.
RIDGID r4514 – Router table insert for table saw and fence extension.
Added a router table to my RIDGID r4514. Some scrap wood a $20 router table insert plate, and some shelf pins and I made a fantastic router table attachment. RIDGID’s fence design is great for this application because it incorporates t-track on all sides so it’s very easy to add on an auxiliary fence system with t bolt. (Or in my case bolt that I ground down into t bolts)
materials list:
router table insert – the one I bought off Amazon is no longer available but all the cheap ones look the same except for the paint jobs. (also had to re drill the mounting holes in the one I had)

ok, how to put this?
I own the same table saw for quite some time and you’ve open a new world for my best "portable table saw" ever!!!
Even that you took it to the next level, I’ll make it simplest, according to my essentials.
thank you very much!
I was wondering how to use that extendable part on my makita table sawโฆ.well thanks to you man cant wait for 2morrow to start
Where did u get that metal plate for router?
what are those pins called? what size? thanks!
Nicely done!
I did exactly the same with my Ridgid saw table…logical idea. I don’t understand why Ridgid don’t make an insert which does this…
Very cool!
Yep. Gonna do this! Good stuff!
Jaw drop! Definitely making this!!
Does anyone else always try to blow away the sawdust while watching these woodworking videos ๐คฃ?
Really great video and explanation. Does anyone have recommendations on which t-bolts to buy for a Ridgid fence? I’m new to this t-slot stuff and have noticed how many sizes or options there are – it’s a bit confusing for a newbie. I purchased the Ridgid ts3650 used and I’m loving it, just wanting to get the bolt situation figured out.
Sometimes you see things that make you go,..hmmm, interesting. Then there are some things that just make you feel dumb for not seeing a solution right in front of you. This is one of those, fantastic.
Great job man I love this! Just picked this saw up today and canโt wait to build a router table in it.
Excellent idea! i like it A LOT!
Hi do you have a vid about the fence upgrade to your table saw? Can you please give me the part number for it? Thanks Nice video btw
The exact solution I was looking for since I run the same table saw. Thanks for putting this content out there!
Brilliant! Thanks for this very practical and great idea. Perfect timing coming across your video as Iโve been planning on making some sort of setup for my trim router.
Well done. Great solution for a small shop.
Smartest idea Iโve seen on YouTube, thank you so much for sharing this, and could you plz tell something about Rigid table saw? I
This is a genius. Bumped myself on the head that’s a good idea.
This is awesome. I must try this for my rigid!!
Very nice I have the same table looking forward to following your video to build mine thank you. Does your blade go out of adjustment every time you make some cuts?
Great idea. Have the same saw and router and totally going to do this. Thank you for sharing bro.
I did have a question about this. I don’t exactly want to drill into the table saw but I was thinking…is there a way to make a dado/groove or something so this fits in between? I think I might try your method since I have the same exact table saw. Unsure if I should just screw the 3/4 plywood or mdf together or glue them though.
I have a question, this means that every time I need to use the fence I would have to remove the router fence to flip the short fence?
I’m a little embarrassed I didn’t think of this. I’ll be doing this with my saw and a homemade router lift. Good idea
Such a clever use of space!! Well done!
I have your same router and bought the same metal plate to make my router table. Unfortunately only 2 holes on my plate match with the router holes๐ค Did you have the same problem? How did you secure your router to the plate? Thanks
Pure genius looks like I have my next project
Just bought this table saw and I think I am going to use this great idea, but one question does the table saw still fold up for storage with the rotor attachment left in?
Sweet! Recently got the same saw and have been considering doing this so I am just curious… why not extend the saw plate out all the way and make a larger birch router plate to insert?
How thick is laminated plywood?
Great idea
What bit was the one you use I know that you mentioned it was a 3/8 but which 3/8?
Very clever and well documented with no fluff. Really appreciate the effort you put into this!
speak up
This is genius. ๐ช Thanks for the idea. Nothing more needs to be said!!!
Very nice addition to this table. Too bad Ridgid removed the fence micro adjust thumbscrew from this model and it’s predecessor R4513…fortunately my R4510 is still in great shape.
you stole my idea LOL I did the same thing but I did it 10 years ago. I’m glade to see someone can think outside the box. great job
Just got this exact table saw and will definitely be making this attachment and returning my dads ryobi table ๐
Spectacular–thanks for the great 4514 add!
I just found your video, and LOVE IT! I have the same saw and just ordered the plate after watching your super idea. Thanks for sharing! I am going to subscribe and look at your other videos. Could you make a video on how to make a table saw dado plate for the saw?
I’ve been needing/wanting a router table and this looks like the perfect solution! I don’t have a trim router but this looks sturdy enough to handle my plunge router.
Clean and concise installation, one of the best designs that i have seen. Great fence too!
Creative, simple and extremely functional. This was a timely find for myself as well … I’m picking up the Delta variant of the Ridgid R4560 next month and I wanted to do exactly what you just did in this video. About the only difference between what you did and what I’m going to probably do is have a laminate surface on the addition. Other than that, pretty much on board with your design.
Thanks much for sharing your design and instructions, it will save me a certain amount of trial and error. Cheers and good luck with your saw and router table.
Brilliant!
Genius, doing this tomorrow!
dude. you are a GENIUS
I absolutely dig this video. I have the same tablesaw as a stand in for when my delta took a crap on me. I’ll be copying you. Liked and subscribed
DUDE!
I have the same table saw.
Definitely have to do this. ๐๐
Could you share the source for the $20 router insert? THANKS!
