The lack of a variable speed trigger ruins all the Ryobi Jigsaws…for me. Saying "If you don’t like it, its right there at your thumb…" is almost not point and I find myself using both hands to adjust speed. If the trigger was simply a safety switch and the thumb switch started at 0 rpm, I would dig it. My 30 yr old Craftsman has s sliding switch on top, but it starts at 0 rpm and has no trigger.

That type of speed control, although different for a jigsaw, is an excellent feature. Reminds me of the old blue corded reciprocating saw. Important to match speed to the material and blade you’re using. Blades last a lot longer and tool will be more efficient.

For me I almost never use a jig saw. Other saws work just as well or better. Still good review. Thanks.

The Saw blade you are using is not correctly for cutting 1 inch thick wood.

Style looks similar to the M18 fuel but the performance doesn’t look even close.

I have all Ryobi tools. I do construction. I’ve had them for a few years now. They get the job done just fine.

Ran across your review on another Ryobi product and liked the thoroughness of your work. This one is just as thorough and exactly how I would think it through. Great job and thanks for helping me decide on this product! Now to wait for Ryobi Days @ Home Depot to get it on sale (missed the Christmas deals). Subscribed and belled!

Honestly, looks a lot like the Ridgid Octane jigsaw from a few years ago. I bet that the old hose hookup for the Ridgid would fit in the back of that Ryobi. Nothing I see here would make me buy this tool.

    Thanks for the video.
I consider lucky to own a Makita jig saw since I am new to this game.
I got a year ago for free when I bought the hammer drill and impact drivers plus 2 5.0 batteries.
Thanks for the video as always.

ok the variable trigger on this tool would make no sense. you finger can’t hold lower power while making turning cuts you would go high and low on power messing up your cut. the rotating power knob is better.. for long steady cuts. They don’t make good blades🤣 The tools are good thats why there not selling blades separate they Haven’t figgered out how to make a good one. There nice enough to give you a starter blade👍nothing like getting a gift and you can’t try it out till you hit the store😭 Big kids toys 🤔🤣
