Short-field landing: using LESS THAN HALF of Block Island's short runway!

Short-field landing: using LESS THAN HALF of Block Island's short runway!

Approach and landing runway 28 at KBID during a beautiful summer day. Great views all around! It was my second landing at this airport, and first this year. Aimed for the numbers and made the first exit, which was MUCH better than my first attempt (in 2019). Enjoy!

Thanks for watching 🙂

Does your ForeFlight automatically switch to airport diagram on its own after landing?

I always wanted to fly to Block Island but moved from NYC to LA right after I got my PPL. Hopefully one of these days I’ll get around to it. PS…don’t push on the spinner when pushing the plane back.Put your hand on the inner root of the prop.

I have flown into BID many times over last 30 years in my Mooney and Cessna’s …love it. Even witnessed a plane runoff the west end of runway down the drop etc. It’s a little shorter and on a plateau effect and makes you focus on approach speeds.
