Siegley StS hand plane iron at 800X

1920’s era Siegley StS cast iron hand plane cutting iron manufactured by Stanley Works. The Siegley StS iron is a thick, tapered, forge welded laminated iron with O1 tool steel along the cutting edge backed by a less expensive alloy to provide stiffness and save production cost. Stanley ended Siegley production in 1929. The cutter is magnified 800X to examine the properties of the cutting edge and lamination joint.

    Hi Greg!!! Awesome presentation!!! Be careful your going to pull out all those gray hairs and be left with nothing!!! Would you please post the parts list and where you got the setup from please?
