This week I made a multifunction workbench out of 2x4s and plywood. This workbench packs a lot of functionality in a small size. It is perfect for a small garage woodshop. It works as a table saw outfeed table as well miter saw station. Check out the video to see how to build it!

Stuff I used:

Pretty cool table. I have a lot of tools just not what you showed in your vid. But maybe I can incorporate ideas into a smaller version. Hats off to you my man.

    width with both jaws closed?

  7. JIP on August 20, 2022 at 12:35 am

Flip your table upside down and on the other end of the table opposite to where the table saw is. Pour some concrete to act as a counter weight to the table saw.

No one will see it under the table. You can use some of those washer screws into the perimeter of the wood and tie some wire around the heads connecting to all the screws so the concrete doesn’t fall off, some bonding liquid added to the mix and wood will further help the bond. 👍

Very well done. How about a shelf on the stringer to set the mitre saw when not in use? Great video, young fella.

Are there plans for this beauty? I want to build one.

  13. Craig Joseph on August 20, 2022 at 12:45 am

Thanks for the great idea 💡, I can see this becoming a big box store item, selling for big bucks, so you may as well cash in on it.

  14. Paul Murphy on August 20, 2022 at 12:54 am

Hi love it …any plans available?

  18. Aza's Built to Code on August 20, 2022 at 12:56 am

Sweet setup, thank you Moser! Applying some of these ideas to my small workshop. Love the floating table saw, what could possibly go wrong…

  19. get at it on August 20, 2022 at 12:56 am

I’d add some braces on the table saw over hang and legs .looks pretty sus. I wouldn’t want those snapping whilst feeding the table saw. Running big boards through ya gonna put alot of down pressure in the process. overall
    I’ll give it a C+

    Genius!

  21. Outersketcher on August 20, 2022 at 12:59 am

Nice work. Nice design. I plan to do something similar. Only I plan to add two lower shelves. And I want to try it using a blank solid wood door for the table top.

    Do you have any plans?

How moving like a cake with out rollers ? Amazing

  25. Michael Charles on August 20, 2022 at 1:02 am

Extremely good presentation with several great construction and other ideas that has provided me with some clear new ideas which I intend to use for my ‘Work Bench’ construction – the ‘Miter Saw’ cut-out is chief among them. Thanks for sharing..

  26. cybersurfer2010 on August 20, 2022 at 1:03 am

    Nicely done!

  27. Matthew Bessette on August 20, 2022 at 1:03 am

Welp, there it is! That’s the one I’m building. Thanks!

  28. Matt Wright on August 20, 2022 at 1:05 am

Good effort but that table saw overhang is going to be a problem.

  29. bighand69 on August 20, 2022 at 1:06 am

You probably want to try and have no gap between the workbench and the saw.

  30. nigel ross on August 20, 2022 at 1:08 am

I’ve been looking at all types of build-your-own work benches over the past 6 months and probably viewed over 100. Why I missed your creation during my searches, I do not know. But I found it, thank goodness. Without doubt, the best instructional video and best workbench that will fit my needs precisely.
Great detailed description as you progress through the cut out and assembly. You made it look so easy but suspect that was because your video was well planned out and put the right amount of time into the more complex parts during assembly.
Thanks for a fantastic video and hope to start my build next week.

Great job. This is exactly what I need.

  34. Matthew Encina on August 20, 2022 at 1:11 am

There are some great ideas in here. Thanks so much for sharing your build and process!

  35. itzaddam on August 20, 2022 at 1:13 am

Dude!!!!!! I’ve watched a lot of bench vids but I think for what it does and the compact size this will be perfect when I set up shop in my garage. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to trying to make this build!

  36. timurhan t on August 20, 2022 at 1:14 am

I also really like this solution! Well done and thanks for taking me through the process!!!

  37. George L on August 20, 2022 at 1:14 am

I’m a carpenter, that’s a nice simple but well thought out design. You took lots of care and I wouldn’t have done a thing differently. People go overkill on these benches but yours is all 99.9% would need. Well done. Great job.

  38. upScales on August 20, 2022 at 1:18 am

    Death trap

  39. massimo franza on August 20, 2022 at 1:20 am

I’m not sure if you can work with this workbench exactly.

  40. Joseph Cavanaugh on August 20, 2022 at 1:22 am

    Niiixt.

    genius !

  42. Michael Francis on August 20, 2022 at 1:23 am

    Pretty cool

  43. Redd Panda on August 20, 2022 at 1:23 am

Would have been better to let top extend 50 mm beyond frame AA. Oh well, next time you can make it better, right?

  44. Michael 732 on August 20, 2022 at 1:23 am

    This is the perfect table

  45. Sol Everett on August 20, 2022 at 1:24 am

I really like it although one flaw. I bet the table saw supports will sag over time. Would be better supported or incorperated like you did the Miter. Great job and video.

  46. RKO OSCAR on August 20, 2022 at 1:25 am

    Nice love it

  47. tony barkdull on August 20, 2022 at 1:27 am

Very nice bench. One idea. You can create fences for either side of the miter saw for longer pieces and just stake them down with the dog holes and clamps. Store them underneath

  48. In Bill's Garage on August 20, 2022 at 1:28 am

    Awesome project. Good job.

Awesome! Great idea and well executed. You covered the steps very well. Can’t wait to get started on building one for myself.
