Stanley No. 60-1/2 Low Angle Block Plane compared to newer English Stanley 12-960.

Low angle block planes are supper useful in the shop. I happen to have one of each of these. The 60-1/2 is a Stanley classic. The 12-960 is the modern day low cost equivalent. I walk through the similarities and differences and end with a brief road test.
There is a new version of the 60-1/2, the “Sweetheart” 60-1/2 or 12-139. I’d like to hear from folks who have one of these. Thanks for watching.

I like block planes too. I know you can do everything with a smoothing plane but a block plane just feels nice and comfortable in the hand. Especially for removing the arris on MDF/PLY or laminate edges. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜Š
