Table Saw Rip Capacity. Increase TableSaw Cut width for next to Nothing!

Have been wanting to increase the Table Saw Rip Capacity and it hit me the other day that I can do with while spending almost NO money! Couple of bolts and a couple new holes and we are ready to rock cutting 36″ on the right side of the table saw blade, this will be AWESOME!

Started to do some keyword research before I realized a bunch of folks have done this before….@Jay Bates made a video that I now remember watching back in the day. Give it a watch if you need more ideas! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep-y6jyo6n0

Have had a new table saw in the back of my mind for a while now with the biggest factors being increased capacity and a riving knife. Well we took care of one of those wishes for about $14, that was easy! I have made inserts with splitters on them to help protect myself but that is the best you can do with a saw like this, a riving knife is not an upgrade that is possible without extensive machining.

What fence system are you using on the table saw? I have the stock rigid two piece fence that I would like to replace.

Hmm… A parallel clamp pulling on your fence. Wonder why it’s bent? Have you done that before? Lol

I really love the doohickey you used to keep your hip from getting smashed. ๐Ÿ™‚ I do wonder if the dust remover hose is in the way the the new space you created. Thanks for a great video.

Looking to replace my 20+ year old Delta Table Saw…Been looking at the Ridgid and a few others. I don’t want to break the bank. How do you like your Rigid. Would you buy it again if a sponsor did not provide you with a different brand?

I have that same table saw / fence minus the cast iron wing.. I love it. Do you have a more convenient solution to angled cuts on it than to disassemble and flip the fence? I have been thinking of building a fence cover for it to use both sides of the fence, but havent put any serious thought into it. Would be a great companion upgrade to the extra capacity! Thanks for making this vid, I plan to do this same mod to mine ๐Ÿ™‚

Great video. I always wondered about the large fence systems I see. BTW; I have had more safety mishaps, near misses, and need for PPE at home than in my many years working in construction and industry!! DD

You have a great table saw Tyler! Its great to see youtube makers keep and maintain their table saws instead just joining Sawstop koolaid club.
