We in the U.S. are profoundly aware of our collapsing country. Many U.S. citizens are ready to move out and find a new place to live. But, many countries have strict immigration laws, and not everyone can simply move there. Switzerland is a good example.

i live in Davao City Philippines, and in this city, NO CRIME (No illegal drugs). NO CORRUPTION. when i was hospitalized and thought i’ll die coz i don’t have money, the Central 911, DSWD, LINGAP and some people in the hospital paid for my bill and donated me some money. In this city, education is very affordable/FREE from elementary up to college. Products in the markets are very affordable EXCEPT alcohol and cigarettes. Development is fast and massive. Culture diversity is high. Fun are everywhere. When I was a victim of fire, the city government of Davao City shower blessings VERY abundantly. Freedom and liberty, as a democratic country, are highly practiced. As a call center agent, my minimum wage rate is FREE of tax, only the excess has tax. The Davao City is the "MOST LIVABLE AND SAFEST CITY IN THE WHOLE WORLD." if not is one of the top 5.

This list is BS. People are literally struggling to live in cities like Vancouver or Toronto due to the crazy high taxes and unaffordable home prices. That doesn’t sound liveable to me. I would prefer to live in Las Vegas where you can get same house size and amenities for the same price plus much better weather and nightlife.

  29. JL Luna on August 8, 2023 at 4:27 pm

Whoever made this list has not been to Calgary in the winter. Calgary is amazing in the summer, but in winter it’s horrifying for EVERYONE. Crime is average, healthcare is pretty good, weather is unpredictable, it’s clean, the people are fairly boring, there isn’t a whole lot to do and the public transportation is actually pretty decent. That all changes in the winter though and everything gets ugly.
Edit: I almost forgot, it’s EXTREMELY expensive.

    "Vancouver in most livable list"
If it takes only 70 years for a master’s graduate to afford an average 1 bedroom home working 80+ hrs a week while living off of high food and gas prices plus tax, dealing with the homeless drug users and crazy far far far FAR leftists, while stuck with slow transit and crappy weather, while being in an earthquake tsunami volcano zone, then it sure is "livable".

  40. Lifemond International on August 8, 2023 at 4:42 pm

In the US, if you simply wonder about universal healthcare and education, the adjectives communist and fiscally irresponsible will be immediately thrown at you by very “intelligent” guys.

  41. august ultra on August 8, 2023 at 4:42 pm

The only thing I was surprised about on this list was seeing a palm tree in Canada 😂

Try CLIMATE. You left this one out. How is this not a factor when assessing Livability? In fact, it is the most important one. The better the weather, the healthier for humans to live in overall. No matter how prosperous a city is, or how clean and safe, it is still not as livable if the weather is not pleasant. The cities you mentioned do not necessarily have optimal weather at all. In fact, far from it. They are for the most part damp and cold all year round. None in Canada, or Austria (Northern Europe), or New Zealand. The ones in Australia you mentioned, Perth and Adelaide, YES, I’m there with you. But not Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. Too humid. I also agree with you that New York and London are not livable cities based on their climate (and also, as you mentioned, their high crime rates). Cities with much, much better climate around the world, and therefore more livable, are found at less distant latitudes from the Equator than the ones you mentioned, directly south or north of them, such as those found in Mediterranean Europe, extreme Northern Africa, the Southwestern United States, Israel, Turkey, central Chile and South Africa, whose economies are actually no worse than the ones in your list, and neither less clean or safe. But of course, you might disagree with me, I am giving you my take on this.
