The Viking way – Woodwork
In June 2016 the project managers of Hands on History and Trondheim Vikinglag hosted the even The Viking way. The event was located in the deep Norwegian forest in Trøndelag. Our goal was to reenact a group of Vikings surviving on and of nature.

what No safety glasses, NO safety gloves, NO steel toe boots, No safety apron ! Viking must not have been part of the Union ! How did they live so long under those conditions? ………… they must have not complained enough!?!
Is the music from someone else ? Really liked it
Alright, but how did you mount that wood on a metal rod?
Hey, really great video ! I am looking to build some furniture for my garage, found this incredible resource that has 16000 woodworking plans ! I mean, if you can do it, it’s there – you just have to follow the plan. Awesome ! Check it out here if you want to -» https://tinyurl.com/y8rc83h4

What is the tool used at 0:40?
They were FARMERS and SHIP BUILDERS and routinely ruined good Cod fish and turned it into Lutefisk that centuries later certain children in certain Norse heritage families were tricking into eating a certain family get togethers so the adults could take "cute" pictures and laugh heartily……uh…my ‘friend’ told me.
And, "Viking" is a JOB description.

VIKINGS,,,, Hippies with,,,, attitude 😠
Sailed to the Americas, discovered the local weed, then they become HIKINGS,,,, Hippies with,,,, no attitude, just hi ! chill’n out 😎
This is so fucking ridiculous. You hipster douchebags are sullying the skill and work the real Vikings did. And for fucks sake put shirts on. OH LOOK AT OUR TATTOOS VIKINGS DIDNT HAVE as we show off in what would have been frigid ass weather. Ridiculous. Really???? You think they woodworked in UNDERWEAR and bare feet? I can smell your nasty asses from here.
Foi legal o vídeo gostei principalmente do início dos dois Menestrel e o prosseguimento com a música que eles tocavam
Ahem….
Sources?
Up until this, I had only seen Vikings turning bowls and carving furniture legs.
jeg gillar
Cool work.
Whats the instrument called?
Good God why all the negative ass comments these folks are just trying to experience a little heritage and relate to their ancestry if you don’t like it fuck off. The music was awesome and they looked genuinely happy. Great vid guys.
its floki!
I did it myself. Find Woodprix quickly. if you want to do that.
The gayiest viking video
I need to see so much more about that foot powered laithe!
Hollywood doesn’t show real Viking hairdos. Re-enactors shouldn’t copy them.
I am a carpenter and many hand tools that I saw in the video are still used today until their old lathe that uses the foot and a rope to turn the wood, only that it is already electric

Love from morocco ✌✌✌
Love it 💟 from Morocco
Nice concept guys!!!
i really like this. it shows thet they wernt as primative as ppl seem to want to think.
you watch shows where there is NO decoration or anything on the chairs and tables and other every day items. they show the chairs and tables and candlesticks as crude hand carved things lumps of wood barely carved to shape…spring pole lathes were not uncommon at all…and with those turnings are as easy as modern just a bit slower. they turned ornate decorations for even the common houses. not all dirt covered men and women in dull browns either.
They got the filthy part right.
dang .. 1 dope duo
Nice video
