The Witcher's Wooden Alchemy Chest // Woodworking Build
The Witcher's Wooden Alchemy Chest // Woodworking Build
DIY build of a traditional hand cut joinery wooden chest inspired by the Witcher fantasy series.
I’m a huge fan of the Witcher series, so when I came across a reference to Geralt’s wooden alchemy/potion/travel chest, I knew I had to make it!
In Andrzej Sapkowski, The Last Wish, as Geralt is preparing to battle the Striga –
“The witcher returned to the dusty table at which he was preparing, calmly and meticulously. He knew he had plenty of time. The striga would not leave her crypt before midnight. On the table in front of him he had a small chest with metal fittings. He opened it. Inside, packed tightly in compartments lined with dried grass, stood small vials of dark glass. The witcher removed three.”
If you’ve never heard of the Witcher series, basically it’s set in a medieval fantasy world, with your usual array of humans, elves, dwarves, magic and monsters.
Witcher’s, are professional monster hunters, who travel from village to village to solve monster related issues for money. This chest would be used to hold alchemy tools and potions and what not.

🔥🔥🔥
Hey man love your work. You inspire me to continue with my woodworking. Hope to get as good as you
Awesome Job!!!
Remarkable!
Well done,
Excellent work
What a beautiful work of art. 👍😍👌
Fabulous vid. Entertaining and learned some. Good mixture of high tech tools and old fashioned hand craft. Didn’t understand the dilemma on the arched top – best to bevel the slats according to the maths (sum 180) and cut the end plates to fit.
So many nice handmade touches. The elliptical curve, the hand-fitted slats, the nails. I can see this becoming a family heirloom.
Cool project, and well done.
Wow awesome
Beautiful piece of art , congratulations, good technique and professionalism. 👏🏻
Wow!
This is an awesome build. Well done!
I have a large shoebox where I store all my herbs, oils, incense and crystals. I was looking for a tutorial to make a wooden box where to store them.
This is exactly what I was looking for and more. Thank you very much for doing such an art piece (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Good & Nice Job .
I’d like your to buy one of witches box .
That’s possible?

¡Te quedó espectacular! ¡Me encantó!
This is really cool! If you are having to split the grain with your chisel (2:41), in order to cut across the grain, your chisel might not be sharp enough. That puppy should cut right through
I LOVE it!! You can see the passion you have for it in your work. It turned out absolutely stunning, you did such a wonderful job. ❤
I enjoy doing wood projects, but this makes me feel like the kid in the back row that eats crayons. Beautiful project and extraordinary video!
Nice Dude! TFS, GB 🙂
Awesome beautiful work. One question could you have gotten away without gluing the top strips together? As the piece aged the strips would expand and contract but also give it a more aged look. Also since you nailed it to the arcs the glue isnt really needed. Just curious on your thoughts a few years later.
Dear algorithm,

Further fabrication .what are the box measurements please
Looks great man!
Do you have a store?
Absolutely brilliant, young man. I’m glad to see you used old school and new technology to build this box. It was inspiring. When I built my 1st piece of furniture, more than 40 yrs ago, I had a Craftsman skill saw and drill. But I also had my grandfather’s tool kit. Took me 3 months to build a cedar lined hope chest for my wife-to-be. It includes about 40 square nails my great grandfather made while be was building houses. My daughter now has that chest.
You kids now have those computer controlled cutters to inscribe. I would challenge you to leave it alone, and use your chisels, hammer, and a wood burner. It might not be perfect, but it’ll have old world charm and character. And, you’ll have another skill set.
I wish you well, and hope you have a long career. You’re well on your way.
Are you sure is The Witcher alphabet, This alphabet like a Old Turkic script

Wow awesome looking chest well done mate!
Awsome build
Wow love it , do you sell these or just do them for your collection
Amazing job . Love it
Sadly I have literally none of the tools, but your work is amazing. Loved watching your work
I used to be able to do work like this, back before Diabetic Nephropathy stole the feeling in my hands and feet. Worse, I have over a hundred plastic models still in their factory sealed boxes that I can no longer build. You hit 70, you have all this neat stuff and mother nature steals your ability to do much of anything. I even have seven books half or more written that I am no longer able to complete. People, make the beautiful things while you can, because one day you will wake up to discover that you no longer have the dexterity to do so. Battle on!
Beautiful work my friend.
Perfect 🤩
What an amazing idea! This would also be a great chest for the serious fountain pen ink lover.
Nice!
Wow
Lovely work! Have a sub!
How much would this chest cost to make? I’m not a wood worker.
