I don’t understand why woodworkers need so many clamps, I have just 4small ones and I have been woodworking for 2 years now. Just make a solid woodworking bench with some kind of a vise for doing joinery. I am not trying to hate , just trying to give a tip

  12. Kathy Kavanaugh on April 1, 2022 at 6:38 pm

You use ‘he’ a lot in reference to woodworkers.

  13. Greg's Workshop on April 1, 2022 at 6:38 pm

I would like a Sawstop please

  14. Bike Outback on April 1, 2022 at 6:42 pm

I have those same Harbor Freight clamps you showed and am about to use a hack to make them stiffer here soon. Great video by the way. Always wanted to ask about the walls in your garage and the fact that they are sided, was garage added or just design style? I always think your shop is outside but it’s not.

  15. Carlos Claros on April 1, 2022 at 6:48 pm

I am a victim of this problem. I am picky. My wife is a mechanical engineer and is tool friendly. I knew I wanted a japanese pull saw for my birthday. I sent her the saw I wanted. I wanted a chisel set and I sent her my choice. I sell custom frames for paintings and pictures. I also sell a couple thousad dollars a year in my own paintings. The deal is if I sell something its my money. I did some sales and I bought a dokuzi(sp) back saw at Lowes.I sent her a text of the smaller dovetail pull saw I wanted. She bought me a second dokuzi (sp) saw that I originally sent her. The one I bought at Lowes was only $21 while the Japanes one was $34.00. Its not a back breaker. I do a ton of woodworking so I have a replacement. I want a Bosch random orbital sander for christmas..lol. not the 59.00 one the adjustable speed one 69.00..lol. and the dovetail pull saw.
What I am saying you are dead right..

Hey, check out Vanon Batteries. I think they actually make the batteries for a lot of the companies. Somewhere around half the cost of name brand.

I posted on a old video but do you need a tax ID or EIN to sell products on Etsy

These gift suggestions work for other areas as well. My wife is really big into quilt making and embroidery. She currently has about 7 sewing machines that perform different operations (sound like your workshop?). She has NEVER bought a sewing machine. I bought every one of them as gifts over the years for different presents (Christmas, birthday, anniversary). The last one cost more than the previous 6 combined, but I got a deal on it and it really made her happy. How did I know what she wanted? I went to fabric stores, quilt shops, watched some of the tv shows she watched. A lot of this bored me out of my skull, but your have to do it, if you are going to buy a gift like this. My wife knows better than to buy ANY tool for me, because I am very particular about my tools. She just says go buy it and we are both happy.

At the end of the video, I noticed you are barefooted in your shop. Hmm… I would easily find the sharpest thing on the floor in seconds. I did notice that you have some sort of rubber matting on the floor. Being substantially older than you, standing on concrete floors is not pleasant. What is it that you have lined you floor with? It looks comfortable to stand on.

I just purchased my first Brad Nail Air Gun and I see a lot of different oils for them so my question is what brand do you reccomend? I’ll be using it on my first Blue Line Flag .

  31. Honey Hollow Homestead on April 1, 2022 at 7:05 pm

My mother used to by my father "cute" tools, just because they were "cute". More times than not he used them and was grateful for them.
Tried explaining to my husband how he could always buy me clamps (I’m the woodworker). He started asking what specific kind. I said "yeah", he got mad.

  32. Russ Martin on April 1, 2022 at 7:06 pm

I would also like to suggest 3M Pro Sanding Paper. A little expensive, but it lasts much longer. https://amzn.to/35x33ro

  35. Stan Kolodin on April 1, 2022 at 7:10 pm

Clamps are like money, never enough in quantity.

  36. Travis on April 1, 2022 at 7:10 pm

The carpenter I work with, we just get him blades, sandpaper, titebond etc. on the house when he needs it, but I think getting him some fresh batteries is a great idea!

  37. Emchugh17 on April 1, 2022 at 7:10 pm

Solid content. You 100% portrayed my exact thought process. You’ve earned another subscriber for sure

  38. g1mpster on April 1, 2022 at 7:11 pm

    So…would clamps be a good gift? 😂

  39. Darren Instone on April 1, 2022 at 7:11 pm

dam right ive got 30 or 40 clamps its never enough …. but when i tell people i want woodworking stuff as presents they all look at me funny and say they cant get stuff like that as a present…..and then they buy some useless stuff i never use instead.

  40. Isaac Ocasio on April 1, 2022 at 7:12 pm

Anybody: so how many clamps do you need?
    Me: yes

  41. Delphaneux laCroix on April 1, 2022 at 7:12 pm

I don’t suppose your buying guide includes a place to buy more spare time?

I could REALLY use more spare time ^_^

  42. Great Grandpa on April 1, 2022 at 7:12 pm

Good video. My suggestion to be sure you get the right item or brand like a battery for their cordless tools is to take a picture on your phone and go to hardware store and show the pictures to the employee in the tool area. Same with everything else.

  43. Mark Michener on April 1, 2022 at 7:14 pm

I really want to see a compilation of the many clamp jokes in this video 🤣

  44. dcrhinos on April 1, 2022 at 7:14 pm

  47. Marc Gagnon on April 1, 2022 at 7:19 pm

Hi, Just subscribed to your channel! Wow, it is great. Thank you.
I tried to find a video that shows how you been doing all the different finishes, for example, the Stove Top Cover (all those different finishes in your top 5 selling video).
If you didn’t have one yet, maybe it an idea for one.
I build myself 16×16 workshop and I’m just starting doing woodworking as a hobby so starving for knowledge
Thanks again for this great channel.

    https://www.amazon.com/Mirka-9A-232-120-5-Inch-Abrasive-Sanding/dp/B0019FR37S
Lasts a long time, no aligning holes, greater dust extraction.

  49. sturgill's handyman services on April 1, 2022 at 7:23 pm

It’s coming up on Christmas time maybe you should redo this video and also throw in there the fact that it’s a whole lot easier to get gift cards for home Depot harbor freight and if you have to the Blue store which is really horrible about everything but you know get a gift card for their favorite place to shop and tell that to their parents grandparents and whoever else just thought brother 🤔

  50. Urgey Sokemov on April 1, 2022 at 7:25 pm

One of those little woodburning kits with a bunch of tips would be pretty cool. But yeah, clamps are always a safe bet
