Thanks for the video, but you disgrace our nations flag by putting snakes on it. Patriotism in a free American democracy means that you understand you will likely have your toes stepped on at some point or another. The freedom we create in this country is for everyone, which does mean that sometimes things aren’t going to go my way. At least that’s what I think about when I read the bill of rights or sing the anthem.

Throughout the whole video I was imagining different hair on your head, the one I laughed out loud was the friar tuck style.

video full of really valuable content, thanks for this Matt. can you also put out a video on how to estimate lumber needed for a project, probably something you are doing at the moment. that would be useful for beginners like me. as of now its like being left blindfolded in a jungle when it comes to lumber estimation

I’m a 50 year old women. I know very little when it come to building. I want to learn in order to work on my own projects. Should I take a course somewhere or just watch loads of youtube videos. (but where do I begin) I have a circular saw, drill and multi tool. My dad has table saw and a couple other things. Did you already know a lot about woodworking before you quit being a trooper?

Your honesty shines a long way, I recently got into woodworking, purely doe making a few things for myself. I really appreciate some of the ideas you’re throwing out there in terms of what people are purchasing. I may try it out locally with a simple item to begin with myself

  35. Nick Brutanna on January 10, 2022 at 11:12 pm

Pricing, one obvious thing to do is go to several different grades of furniture places — Yes, include a place like Wal-mart, they ARE a competitor for someone’s money — and that ought to give you a feel for how much something like ‘X’ goes for… as well as what makes it sell (ask how popular different models are of the sales people, for example)

  42. Paulo Salazar on January 10, 2022 at 11:18 pm

Great video. I’m curious to ask, what about the type of wood you use to determine your costs? Are the projects typically pine wood available from the box stores or higher end wood like Baltic birch from a non-box store location? How do factor that against quality? I’ve done some furniture using box store wood and it was tricky since the wood was may as perfect as preferred.
