Trimmer Router & 15 Router Bits Cutter. FULLY DETAILED Example Cuts

This product is manufactured by Guangzhou J&M CNC Tool Store. And is directly available on their website: https://spacecnc.com/30000rpm-800w-electric-woodworking-trimming-wood-milling-engraving-slotting-diy-carving-machine-15pcs-1-4-shank-router-bits/

So, in this video, we will look at this woodworking trim router (laminate trimmer),
a collection of router bits that came with the set,
try out all the bits and see how they perform,
create a simple tabletop jig,
make a cactus planter box,
and finally, compare this with my other low-cost Aldi trim router.

The video starts with an unboxing and in-depth overview of the router. All the router cutter bits are discussed in detail, and these include chamfer 45 degrees, roman ogee, western profile, round over, straight cut, flush trim, cove box, dovetail. I also made an oak planter box, which incidentally is a common design sold on Etsy. And, also made some square oak coasters as well.

Great tutorial Suj. I have just found your site, yes I know, but better late than never. Very informative for the beginner like my self and a few uses you showed are going to help me 100%. Also the way you showed how each bit works was good to see. I have just acquired the work zone router a few weeks ago at a car boot sale with a few router bits. I am now much more confident to try it out. Thank you.

The one I bought had multiple issues: the base wasn’t at 90 degrees to the motor axis so accurate routing is impossible. Shimming between base and ‘chip catcher’ solved this. The chip catcher baseplate is held on by super cheap self tapping screws that I replaced immediately with proper nuts and bolts. The base is such a slack fit on the tool body that the motor can wobble while cutting and it’s impossible to tighten the locking knob enough to stop the motor unit and base moving against each other (I ended up wrapping the motor unit in tape to pack the fit out ). Don’t expect to be able to do neat work with this right out of the box – you will have to do a bit of fettling.

hey there me old pal.. Love this video mate. U actually explain things to the lay person who doesn’t know a damn thing about these machines. I know how to use a router but for somebody who is new to them this is a brilliant video. I recently bought one of those cheap and cheerful router bit sets on Amazon. I also bought a TopShak handheld router with the Orange top and the toggle switch too. It has the exact same spec and I got it from China tbh. I haven’t used it as of yet but I’m gonna take it down to the work shop 2morrow and break it in to see what it’s capable of. I don’t make content though. I’m not really into that side of it but u made a very good video here bro.
Keep up the great work btw and best of luck with ur channel growth

Hi, I have started a small business to produce kitchen cutting boards. I have bought the router trimmer, the hand planer and 1/4 palm sander for initial start up

I need your help in choosing & using the correct bit to make a "U" shaped juice groove and the groove depth. And also the bits for smoothing the edges for the cutting boards

Want to show the kids how to do engraving, so looking for a cheap router that I won’t mind if they kill it. This seems to fit the bill.

My favourite part of the video was seeing your bench! Superb.

@7:15 you didn’t use super human strength… jkjk

  48. Alien Gray on July 16, 2023 at 3:10 pm

the dove tail bit was used improperly. not ONLY did you not tighten it properly in the chuck… but most terrifyingly you where cutting MUCH more than this and most other router bits are intended to cut in one pass. but im sure you know this by now ;). one should NEVER try to cut more than an 1/8 of material from your workpiece in a pass. if you need to take MORE than that, then you should do it in multiple passes.
