Izzy you are like the Dali Lama of shop tips. There are lots of tips are posted on the web that help you do one thing once in a while. But your tips are actually helpful every day….or at least every week or two. That edge banding tip alone was awesome. No more strips of tape hanging off my sleeves.

  18. Solder-Flowz on February 3, 2023 at 4:39 am

Or.. just buy yourself a 3d printer.

  19. MikeJ F on February 3, 2023 at 4:40 am

  22. californigirl on February 3, 2023 at 4:43 am

An important note about pinking shears: NEVER use your resident seamstresses shears. She will kill you. Use an old second hand shear, or buy one just for garage duty.

  23. Gary Cooper on February 3, 2023 at 4:44 am

That flap-sanding trick alone is worth the price of admission.

  24. Chris Murley on February 3, 2023 at 4:45 am

Excellent ideas for me as I have limited use of one hand.

  25. John Anthony on February 3, 2023 at 4:46 am

  26. Ray Driver on February 3, 2023 at 4:50 am

Such an interesting video, Izzy. Thank you for sharing. Your tip for attaching a dust extraction hose is a week late. I spent half an hour fitting one only to find I hadn’t put the clamp on first! 🌞

  42. UpTopMikeP on February 3, 2023 at 5:05 am

Thanks for the tips. I was about ready to buy a bunch of ‘bandy clamps’ until I added them to my cart and saw the price. Never mind! I used rubber bands and cheap spring clamps. They worked great and saved me $$$$

  43. dewdrop on February 3, 2023 at 5:06 am

rubber band spring clamps for edge banding, dowel with sandpaper, really great stuff, will absolutely be using the dowel trick sometime soon. Along with your paint stick sanding file, super 77 and some sheet sand paper is easy peasy and what I use in the shop!

  44. Dale White on February 3, 2023 at 5:06 am

    Good video!

  45. Ken Fullman on February 3, 2023 at 5:07 am

As an even easier trick than cutting a slot in the dowel, you can simply use some gaffer tape to stick the end of a ribbon of sandpaper onto the dowel. If the ribbon is wrapped around the dowel many times, so much the better. As the sandpaper wears out, simply tear the end off the ribbon and you have a fresh piece exposed.

  46. bhough410 on February 3, 2023 at 5:07 am

9:16 You can also use old sanding sponges wrapped with sand paper. It works well on tight spaces & wonders on contours. Sand paper lasts much longer than the sand sponges & costs less, plus some styles have different angles which can also be beneficial.

  47. UbberMapper on February 3, 2023 at 5:09 am

5:58 even easier…turn the pipe upside down and then you only need to hold the bolt…

  48. bkipad on February 3, 2023 at 5:10 am

    Very nice tips thanks

  49. Dutch Walters on February 3, 2023 at 5:12 am
