yes restaurants nowadays have caller ID haha super helpful. it always allows me to know a regular is calling before I have to answer the phone. sometimes if we are really busy I’ll pick up and be like hey Laura, do you want your regular blah blah blah and she’ll say yes and I’ll hang up haha😂 so convenient!
I also think it’s so important to get a hobby that’s off your phone. I feel like nowadays I’m always on my computer or phone and I feel like I waste so much time. I love how you’re motivated to learn a new skill Shelby 😊
Re: the views, my partner is subscribed (and now I’ll subscribe too) but we noticed that YouTube no longer suggests your vlogs, like when we use the AppleTV YouTube app. So it’s not intentional on our part, but we realized that we hadn’t seen anything from you in a bit and realized that we missed a lot!
I have been thinking on the views issue. Not sure exactly what is going on but I bet a lot has to do with the algorithm changes. Getting people to put notifications on your videos is the #1 most important thing to make sure your subs watch. Also you should be vlogging the entire build process of the house in Joshua Tree. Have a separate playlist for that for checked in video and by subject. Then when someone searches and finds you they can easily go through the rest of those videos. One channel that is doing something similar is this one. https://youtube.com/@HowToRenovateAChateau They are a super cute couple completely renovating a chateau they bought in france. They easily get 100k views on every video.

Funny that you do woodworking 🙂 if you use serious power tools, have the utmost respect for the dangers. Local girl got her scalp ripped off when her hair caught in an angle grinder. Get your hair up secure, no loose clothes and a man’s take charge mindset. No girly frolicking. Any string or cord that can snag in something spinning can pull you right in and kill you. Those machines play for keeps.

I’ve stayed in high rises but personally would hate to live in one, even though they have great views. I feel more comfortable near the ground, and taking the elevator all the time is a pain! And some of them don’t even have windows that you can open.
