Hi Scott. Hope you are well. I’m thinking about getting the suspenders but I’m worried the leather straps will stretch with the weight of my tool belt. Can you tell me if you have had any issues with yours please. Thansk form Steven from Scotland. Aw the best big yin.

What is the brand name of the pants you’re wearing sir Scott? You’ve mentioned them before but I can’t find the video 😅

Get well soon, i found the Milwaukee silver tips dont last but the black tips are pretty good. I have gone through 4 tips in 10 days just doing light diy (yes i am straight on and stop the impact before pulling off the screw)

That square can work magic if you know how to use it. I never learned and always use my little tricks to NOT have to do math.

I just ordered the diamondback Denali tool belt setup, super excited

  20. Michael Schuler on March 5, 2023 at 7:13 am

Good video. Chicago screws can open up new worlds of design without need to hire a leatherworker. I have a totally customized Frankenstein tool belt setup, comprising components from Occidental, Diamondback, Akribis, Atlas 46, Buckaroo, and even Menards. My wife, a seamstress, has even indulged my obsession by working through five evolving versions of a work vest, which I have designed to serve as a wearable field desk, strictly limited to small layout and marking tools, along with notepad and cell phone. Velcro pockets for thin magnets (removable for washing) are sewn into strategic spots so I don’t need to put so many miscellaneous fasteners, etc. into my mouth at awkward moments. Your daily carry and mine share many preferences. Small world…

  21. Andrew Juckes on March 5, 2023 at 7:14 am

You young guys are so lucky to have all those amazing tools to assist you, its different game nowadays.

  22. Paweł Kurek on March 5, 2023 at 7:16 am

You should take care of this belt better. Clean it and rub some bees wax on it. Or it will start cracking with the time.

  23. Djani36 on March 5, 2023 at 7:17 am

Awesome. Thank you. I have a very similar all leather occidental setup, but for drywall. I have a little leather/metal hook thing for a gun. It and the last loop of my suspenders sit nearest to open end of the belt and would like to fall off. I’d been using a zip tie to keep it all on. BUT I actually have some of those Chicago bolts and didn’t really thing to use them to fasten it all together. Very awesome as now I’ll actually be able to take my belt apart if needed without wasting zip ties.

  24. Jsn Hsu on March 5, 2023 at 7:19 am

Hi Scott, can you tell me on the hammer, where do you get the rubber grip from? many thanks.

Scooter, what’s the name of the slim profile marker pen?

  28. Slammy on March 5, 2023 at 7:23 am

A note on the Milwaukee speed square… Here in the US, 2×4 framing lumber can have a rounded edge, the wider end on that square helps to get a nice square purchase on the boards to get clean marks and cuts. I have a few cheapo squares from Empire and Harbor Freight, but after I got that Milwaukee square the others sleep on the bench. I got mine in a two pack around Christmas time for about ten bucks. Good buy.

  29. Warren Robertson on March 5, 2023 at 7:25 am

Quick question. when you are installing a pre finished birch plywood on a ceiling what thickness do you use? and on walls?

  30. OhshitJeffrey on March 5, 2023 at 7:26 am

Milwaukee speed square has a wider base that is offset so you can use it to scribe things at two common offsets. Marking your Quarks for example.

If I subscribe what do i get

  32. Dennis Danilov on March 5, 2023 at 7:26 am

Hi Scotty, Just looking into getting the same toolbelt and the Suspension System. My question is regarding the suspension system… did you get the option with Hip Buddies in it?

  33. Ryan MD on March 5, 2023 at 7:27 am

Nice to see someone have their tape On The proper side. I always find it funny when people keep their tape on the same side as they’re handed. To be quick and efficient you need to have your dominant hand ready to use your marking tool. Your square has a larger heel because it’s a better set up for framing when your wood has more wane on it, it’s still able to reach deep enough to reference the perpendicular surface of the wood.

  34. Airborne Images on March 5, 2023 at 7:28 am

I tend to cut more & more timber these days using the speed square as the saw guide. It saves a heap of time going out to where the mitre saw is set up & is very accurate.

And more or less the same tools.

Tool belt is awesome, but where you get the wax gilet my man? That shit is 🔥🔥

  41. Ваня Оленев on March 5, 2023 at 7:40 am

    Даже бу не найти.

  42. Carl Gerrard on March 5, 2023 at 7:41 am

hi, gerat chanel mate. What brand is the nail pouch please.

  43. ZacharyBoB on March 5, 2023 at 7:43 am

Something consistent I see in veteran tool bag lay outs is that things have been parred down heavily to what actually gets used consistently. Despite the trade apprentices always feel obliged to make up for inexperience with more tools. As experience grows, tools get shed.

  44. Adam McCallum on March 5, 2023 at 7:43 am

How common are occidentals in New Zealand? That seems like a large belt on the that side of the equator.

  45. Lifes a Wild Ride on March 5, 2023 at 7:48 am

    Fake

  46. Cody Olmstead on March 5, 2023 at 7:49 am

I have the leather only straps, but instead of using the leather loop in the front I hook the front of the suspenders on the center of each actual pouch.

It was a game changer for me, and lasted close to 10 years, still going strong.
I found it brought the front of the bags up so they would’t sag much. Way more comfortable in my opinion!

  47. Solomon Payne on March 5, 2023 at 7:49 am

What mm are those Chicago screws? I’m wanting to do the same to my suspenders as I have the same problem with them sliding

  48. Michael Wells on March 5, 2023 at 7:50 am

I did that back In the day, bolt my straps to my belt. Remember, some people put a rivet on the X on the straps on the back… the suspenders come with one. I keep my hammer in the front loop, you need to use a wooden handle I like axe handle 12oz stiletto titanium

  49. Simon on March 5, 2023 at 7:51 am

    gucci belt
but MATT BANGS and true tradies need safety harness and light weight

    LUFKIN tapes compact 🙂

I strip down tools and use depending on day
he does double up on tools that another tool can do same job

  50. Ryan Slut on March 5, 2023 at 7:51 am
