What is the Orbital Setting on a Jigsaw and How Does it Work?
We answer the question: What is the orbital setting on a jigsaw? (and show you how it works). As it turns out, you can use it to your advantage in many different materials. We demonstrate how it helps—and possibly hurts—when cutting wood, PVC, and metal. Of course, you find many exceptions to the rule—so let us know how you use (or don’t use) orbital mode on a jigsaw in the comments below.
Really awesome video. I love how you had all the stuff already set up so you wouldn’t waste time clamping the different materials on camera, and I especially love how you got straight to the point and delivered a technically complete description including clear examples. Full marks!
excellent video 👍
You’re exactly right about not using orbital cut on metal!
Great video
THIS is why I come to YouTube! Real life ‘how to’ instructions and explanations are awesome, good video direction & quality, excellent content. -Now that’s a review! 👍👍
Well done Pro Tool, thanks for video!

Brilliant, some other videos dont bother to explain, but this is spot on 🙂
Really great review 👍. And what caught up my attention is the variable speed and the sound of the jigsaw.
For the best straight cut what position is the best
Thanks, appreciated the quick tutorial.
Came here to learn how to use a jigsaw, but actually learned I’ve been putting pipes in a vise wrong my whole life. Thanks!
