What The Heck Is….A Story Board or Story Stick
When doing repetitive layouts, take the time to create a customized ruler which is otherwise known as a Story Stick. I call a Story Stick a Story Board. This video discusses why you should make one for each job with many layouts involved. This is one of the videos from our “What the Heck Is… ” video series – these are designed to be short and useful for beginning woodworkers. Our plan is to have many of these available within a short period of time – check out the Playlist.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has to flip a square around half a dozen times till it’s facing the right direction.
I like your "What The Heck" series. Nicely done.
Thanks for the tip Paul. As a beginner, I often forget that and want to constantly measure.
I’m loving this "what the heck" series, Paul! Very useful information for woodworkers of all skill levels!
Great idea.
I like Small workshop guy’s humor Keep it up Paul.
thanks
Yes Sir, story boards are very, very useful – especially when building large standing projects. I try to reference the story board throughout the build. Thanks for sharing Sir.
Stay safe and prayerful
