Last week I had an x-ray, the technician was loudly yelling and swearing left and right.
A few days later I was in line at a party city for balloons, an employee was swearing in front of families with small children.

I’ve decided to swear as little as I can remember to be mindful of because it’s getting so bad that you can get medical care or have a children’s party. I don’t want to be a goblin like those employees were. I saw it on others and was appalled.

Stephen is a classic example of what a man is not …Take notes kids (do the opposite of him and you will succeed and be happy) He’s miserable and it’s very easy to see

  7. Yasmine Robinson on April 14, 2022 at 6:01 pm

4:46 What on earth is the point of bleeping out a$$hole if you bleep out the harmless part and leave the swear?? And it’s not just the Late Show, either

  8. Lyssa Lectro on April 14, 2022 at 6:02 pm

If someone swears in front of me while working… I immediately trust them 1000x times more.

  9. JJ Smirnoff on April 14, 2022 at 6:02 pm

Stephen looks alot better in the behind the scenes without the orange makeup

I love running jokes… between "is potato" and "doh, garlic knots!" I’m always surprised how I rarely see them coming, even though they happen so often… it cracks me up every time! 🤣

  15. mr z on April 14, 2022 at 6:11 pm

Hey Stephen I really like your show but I am sick of all the commercials I know you got to get paid but come on… I turn you off after the monologue Because I get sick of all those commercials I think this is one cause for inflation just wondering how much a thirty seconds spot runs on your show

  16. George Sturges on April 14, 2022 at 6:12 pm

    garlic knots…

  19. RubberDog on April 14, 2022 at 6:17 pm

I have read (lots) about how cussing can be a healthy outlet, i.e., for pain, etc. and sometimes no other word will do. Maybe the offended should stop giving those words so much power. Cuss words are very handy, helpful expressive adjectives. Please stop giving those words so much power; you create your own offense. Just words! Maybe annihilation, abuse, prejudice, racism, womanizer greed … maybe those are the words you should really be offended by and the actions that accompany them.

  20. summer turpins on April 14, 2022 at 6:18 pm

Jon Batiste is so badass! He can speak through music, no need for words. Not many people have that gift

  21. Kiriu Xeosa on April 14, 2022 at 6:19 pm

That guy in the red jacket has the one thing we all dream of….job security

  23. Joel Mowdy on April 14, 2022 at 6:20 pm

  24. Star Scarred on April 14, 2022 at 6:20 pm

Well yeah, that’s why we told everyone they were nuts, because they gave out tests so people could stop reporting.

  25. phriedokra61 on April 14, 2022 at 6:20 pm

    John …constantly creating…communing with God…

  26. susan schaub on April 14, 2022 at 6:20 pm

People who don’t swear, even when absolutely necessary, tend to suffer with stomach ulcers at some point,I was told….who knows? Maybe.i know I don’t have them.😳

  27. Kevin Morden on April 14, 2022 at 6:21 pm

One day, Stephen will finally remember the garlic knots.

  30. Cynthia Jones on April 14, 2022 at 6:26 pm

This is what Jesus says, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies: whoever lives and believes in me will never die. John 11:27,26 Please think about it believe/repent, even after the rapture you can still be saved. Love

  31. syndillucian on April 14, 2022 at 6:26 pm

Who can afford to order pizza anymore? That is one of the things that has gotten astronomical in cost.

  32. kilroy987 on April 14, 2022 at 6:26 pm

"Why Stephen Colbert Can’t Swear At Work" – not it’s just "Stephen Colbert Can’t Swear At Work"

  33. Aaackermann on April 14, 2022 at 6:28 pm

I love that Stephen curses shamelessly and does so with dignity!
And I fucking HATE this annoying and moronic censoring by bleeping of words just for some douchebag idiots!

  34. Sally M on April 14, 2022 at 6:29 pm

    Ontario isn’t collecting data too.

  35. gg1275 on April 14, 2022 at 6:29 pm

PCR tests cost 6-10 euros (6,6-11 dollars) in Europe. Maybe this difference explains why Europe has way more cases these days then…

  36. James Parker on April 14, 2022 at 6:31 pm

But we got a pedo protecting supreme Court judge now.. 😗 old Joe is sick. 😈

  37. Mighty One on April 14, 2022 at 6:33 pm

I think I swore at work when I nearly broke through the board on top of a scaffold, but I generally try not to do it without good reason, people who swear too much don’t gain as much benefit from swearing.

  38. Barbara Medlock on April 14, 2022 at 6:34 pm

That coffee bit was hysterical!! 🤣🤣🤣

  42. Jude Herbert on April 14, 2022 at 6:40 pm

Batiste was taunting Colbert with that I feel something’s about to happen quip. He knows what Colbert really is and so does Colbert with his crooked ass ear.

  43. Tyg on April 14, 2022 at 6:41 pm

SO beautiful that John Baptist can just "come up with" beautiful music!! He is truly gifted! Surprised he is still with Stephen, but am not complaining.

  44. Ruth Sanchez on April 14, 2022 at 6:41 pm

If I need to curse then I believe my vocabulary isn’t large enough. I can tell someone off without uttering a single curse word or disparaging them personally. I find that it works much better this way to solve issues without it escalating.

  45. FO Biggles on April 14, 2022 at 6:44 pm

JB is becoming very annoying. Just watch him. Like he’s competing …

  46. Gale Cady Williams on April 14, 2022 at 6:45 pm

I am in love with Jon’s unnamed and truly lovely earworm of a gorgeous song. I suggest this: "Lovely, lovely spring." Lots of words rhyme with "spring," and It scans. Please finish it and then please let us hear the WHOLE song – I can’t get it out of my head. Beautiful!

  47. Kate Hall on April 14, 2022 at 6:48 pm

Okay, sure expletives during shareholder meetings and earnings calls are at a 5 year high, but half of that is just Elon Musk.

  48. Bill Freese on April 14, 2022 at 6:51 pm

My students would apologize for cursing at the computer. I told them that was OK. You can’t make a computer work without cursing at it.

  49. Chia_Pet on April 14, 2022 at 6:51 pm

That is not what the sign said. If it did, then there would be some F#ck’n coffee there to drink. Polite signs do not garner action or respect.
