Wickes Top Tips – Use a straight edge as a fence for your circular saw when cutting large timber
For straight and accurate freehand cuts, screw or clamp a perfectly straight edge to your timber. Measure from the blade to the edge of your shoe then add this to your cut measurement to give you the fence position. Secure the straight edge in place, then run the shoe tightly against the saw guide for consistent cuts.
