    I dont know anything about carving techniqes but all of a sudden i got a project banging in my head all the time but i want to have a block of atleast 4*4*4 fts.. And thats the main problem with me to start off.. Can anyone help me??

    I learned to carve on the only wood i had at the time and it was Cherry. I prefer Basswood but still enjoy carving Cherry.

    You don’t say what kind of wood to use or what preparation is necessary -you just jump in.
    This isn’t helpful for a true ‘beginner’.
