Очень правильно сохранить традиции. Хорошее видео. Европейцам может показаться , что это ящик для упаковки чего то более ценного, но это красивая японская мебель.

One could argue that using a power tool is not even true woodworking…. but hey man, that’s just another badass level of craftsmanship! Insane! Big big thumb up!

Видно мастер хороший потому-что одной фаланги пальца не хватает на левой кисти

It’s so awesome I’m definitely going to try that method to make dovetails
    …. But

    What is it?!

  14. Mark Manning on February 25, 2022 at 11:22 pm

i think this would produce a weaker joint because that router is routing out in vertical steps not /– shapes

  19. farrier ss on February 25, 2022 at 11:27 pm

No glue? Guess if I were THAT skilled I would toss out the glue bottle. Amazing work.
Stacked vertical dovetail cuts so clean blows me away.

I love the technique of using the router with a small diameter bit to cut out the tails rather than chiselling or using a coping saw. I will give it a try on my next dovetail project.

  31. ё.professor on February 25, 2022 at 11:45 pm

Очень много ручной работы при том, что используется механическая доработка фрезером, не проще сразу конусной фрезой по шаблону

5:47 How did you router out that 2nd set of cuts when the fingers aren’t perpendicular like the first set?

  37. Z on February 25, 2022 at 11:55 pm

Man… it’s strange to say what I’m about to, but: every so often it’s nice to be reminded just how BAD at the craft I really am.

There are those who would euphemistically term it, "have so much I still have to learn." But, if I’m being totally honest, this is simply not true, at least in this case. I’m not asserting I know all there is to know about working wood. Not by a long shot. I’m saying I didn’t learn any techniques I didn’t already know from watching this… and that I, quite literally, do not yet possess the _skill_ to be able to _consistently_ carry out that level of work – and certainly not _by HAND!_ -. …yet.

I don’t have "so much to learn" in this case, it’s that I have "so much to PRACTICE. Some more. Again. Still."

And as hard as it is on my ego and pride, it _does_ serve to both remind and sham- errr, _inspire_ me to decide that, as soon as I’m done typing this? I SHOULD be in the shop. Practicing my dovetails. So good night, Internet: there’s a Korean master craftsman I need to go try and catch up to!

Outstanding work, @Hammer sound(Woodworking)! Really amazing. Beautiful, too. Just… wow.
