Great vid! Thx for the tips! Any thoughts on a mini compact circular saw for hobbyist/diyer just for quick, small projects ex. shelves & frames?

I noticed in other videos of yours you use Empire brand (Home Depot) squares. I have these but, I’ve noticed they are all 1/16” off at a slight angle. Is this normal, or a fault of Empire? Is there a better yet as easily accessible brand?

Thank you! now i know where should i start.
i was so confusing at what tools or machines should i get first since financial is limited. You saved people like us days!

Exactly what I needed! Kudos for your great work!

  8. Patrick F. on January 17, 2022 at 9:21 pm

I have to say you are awesome and do a great job of providing information. You started with the most important stuff first the safety equipment. People should put the highest priority on that even before they touch any power tools. BTW The pace was fine, having the list of links makes it easy too. I’ve been inspired to go get some tools and start making some stuff.

So glad I came across you videos. Very informative. I like woodworking but I don’t have the skills. I think with the right tools and determination, a simple project can be done (to begin with). Thank you!

  14. Jake Carr on January 17, 2022 at 9:27 pm

this was pretty awesome. You just convinced me to click on "proceed to checkout" and get that Kreg pocket-hole jig that’s been in my cart forever. Not sure why you recommended that router over the miter saw for starter tools, but I’m not a professional. I’m guessing cost. I need to watch some more of your videos. Thanks

  25. Sean McMurtrey on January 17, 2022 at 9:35 pm

Old guys: I’m making this cut with my $12,000 table saw and another $1,000 in accessories partially paid for by my sponsors who I will spend the first 5 minutes of every video talking about and whose logos are prominently displayed throughout the entire video.
Glen: I’m making this cut by using a couple Harbor Freight clamps to hold a straight piece of plywood and a $70 circular saw.

Glen makes it accessible for everyone.
    Glen for the win.

  26. David Developer on January 17, 2022 at 9:37 pm

    Good reasoning.

I have a very different approach to buying tools.

I don’t have any plans of having a house anytime soon. I live in an apt. Should I give up if I don’t have a home to have a space to move around and build things?

  38. Alphonso Hawkins on January 17, 2022 at 9:49 pm

Ok young man, I am trying to start doing something and your videos got me ready to build. I am retired Army combat veterans and you are going to be my therapist through your videos. I am on my way to buy these tools now. My counselor and psychiatrist said I need to do something to take my mind off events and need to get out. This is going to be it for me. I am not going to have to be around people and I can be in my own world. Thanks a lot. I will be sharing your page with others battle buddies and vets.

Awesome as always! Yes you go fast. I don’t care, it works for me. I love your content! I can watch it again to catch what I missed. Some of you may ask, what if I don’t have an internet connection later? Take a look at a "Firefox" extension called, "Video DownloadHelper". It allows you to save videos onto your HDD to view later. No, I don’t work for Mozilla. Lol! Be safe out there!

  42. marc Doss on January 17, 2022 at 9:53 pm
