I came across a very unusual, but very interesting, woodworking design online and I wanted to see if I could replicate the results. Not only did I manage to figure out how it’s done, but I ended up making some pretty stunning pieces myself. Take a look at this video to see how you can use the weaving technique to really add some interest and an artistic flare to some of your woodworking!
Roberto Gastelumendi has been using this technique since the 1990’s. I wonder how far back it goes! 🙂

Drew, what were the woods you were using to make these boards? Thanks.
Bro – you got my subscription with passive-aggressive granola! This was great!
fun stuff man💪💪💪
Yeah that’s impressive
New subscriber here and I gotta say you are a craftsman and apparently an artist too I love the modern looking lines set into the walnuts natural shades, I’d love this look on a full countertop setup or even a large dining table.
Nice, you’re great at making videos! Keep it up
I am really impressed with the outcome of a pretty simple process. Besides the maple & Walnut can you please share what other woods you used?
WOW !! 👍
This was excellent. Ive done woven boards but this is truly on another planet. Thank you for sharing.
Nicely done!
Great job, Keep up the good work
this idea is so simple and straight forward and i would never think of it…
you’re humor is awesome!! XD "then i got drunk and drew a perfectly straight line"
Copious amount of Walnut, I love it! Great job!
""Just look at the figure of that wallnut". That’s what she said…
I’m definitely going to try this. Thanks.
That’s slick.
Wooooow
absolutely stunning, congrats!
i had no idea what you were trying to do but when i saw the end result it all made sense. well done. awesome design.
Really cool! Just saw you on the woodworking YouTubers live. Lots of great info in that live. Thank you Sir. Sub!
It’s like quilting w/wood instead of fabric. I love it.
Wow! You did some awesome work here! Kudos.
Your dry, casual delivery of the jokes is perfect!! you had me laughing.
good stuff. me likie
Beautifully creative work, thanks for sharing it with us 🙏🏼
This was incredible. Nice job!
nicely done
Excellent Videos, Thanks
Hey rockler if your reading this I could use some sponsor help too😘
It was obvious you were using every Rockler tool available. That’s ok , I get it. But you went to all that trouble to flatten that board in the planner when you had a jointer there. Then towards the end you you could have cut that curve on the end of the board on the bandsaw and then sanded it on your sander. I understand it’s nice to show different techniques with your sponsors tools but a long way to get to the station. Just an observation not a criticism. Board came out great, like your speaking presentation
Please keep the granola, really great for someone that didn’t know how to make one and yet made one Great piece
Those are beautiful and your sense of humor is great! Thank you.
Just an excellent teach. Thank you
Brilliant, have already copied this idea and works well, really transforms a piece. Keep them coming!
just wondering where do you get your wood for your projects.? I’m kind of just starting out making different projects and use pallet wood at the moment.
Beautiful cutting board. I’m very interested in that thin strip jig. Is that something you came up with or did you find plans somewhere ? I could really use one so I don’t cut myself again on my table saw
Awesome idea. The funny comments throughout the video were a great touch. I’ll definitely be trying this technique soon. Thank you for taking the time to post.
Wow that was fun just watching you make the pieces. I subscribed.
I sure am glad I’m not your neighbor! Lol, nice boards!! 👍👍👍😎🇨🇱
Well done!
Great idea!
Outstanding.
I’ve been teaching myself to build guitars, and you gave me a wonderful idea for a guitar body.
This is one of the best boards I’ve ever seen on YouTube
Love from iraq
Nice! Reminds me of Art Deco. Love the humour!
Can’t even cut on your own marked guide line smh , sloppy 😒
Those boards are gorgeous, good Sir!!
