I came across a very unusual, but very interesting, woodworking design online and I wanted to see if I could replicate the results. Not only did I manage to figure out how it’s done, but I ended up making some pretty stunning pieces myself. Take a look at this video to see how you can use the weaving technique to really add some interest and an artistic flare to some of your woodworking!

Roberto Gastelumendi has been using this technique since the 1990’s. I wonder how far back it goes! 🙂

New subscriber here and I gotta say you are a craftsman and apparently an artist too I love the modern looking lines set into the walnuts natural shades, I’d love this look on a full countertop setup or even a large dining table.

Hey rockler if your reading this I could use some sponsor help too😘

  32. michael on February 26, 2022 at 11:30 pm

It was obvious you were using every Rockler tool available. That’s ok , I get it. But you went to all that trouble to flatten that board in the planner when you had a jointer there. Then towards the end you you could have cut that curve on the end of the board on the bandsaw and then sanded it on your sander. I understand it’s nice to show different techniques with your sponsors tools but a long way to get to the station. Just an observation not a criticism. Board came out great, like your speaking presentation

  37. Nicholas Tarantino on February 26, 2022 at 11:37 pm

just wondering where do you get your wood for your projects.? I’m kind of just starting out making different projects and use pallet wood at the moment.

  38. Navarro Edwards on February 26, 2022 at 11:39 pm

Beautiful cutting board. I’m very interested in that thin strip jig. Is that something you came up with or did you find plans somewhere ? I could really use one so I don’t cut myself again on my table saw

  39. John Holden on February 26, 2022 at 11:39 pm

Awesome idea. The funny comments throughout the video were a great touch. I’ll definitely be trying this technique soon. Thank you for taking the time to post.
