Why not a spline? Or dovetail?

what are your thoughts on using salt to help grip the glueup? does it hinder or diminish the bond?

Hi! I am trying to make the same exact monitor stand. What joints would you use without any bisquit, domino jointers or dowel drilling jigs?

suggestion: instead of hot glue you can try using tape on both pieces of wood and using CA glue on the tape.

Looks good, gonna give that a go. I have a domino cutter so the joint will be strong, I just want to ensure it is closed up nicely.
