Woodworking Tools available at Menards – FastCap
I guess I don’t understand Menards organization. I am there every week and did not realize they even had FastCap Woodworking tools until about a month or so ago. If you are looking for FastCap Glubots they are not with glue and you will only find them with the pinewood derby cars in the hobby section Same with the artisan hammer, accuscribe, blind nails, fast edge, TracPad, etc.
If you want one of their countersink tools for the powerhead cabinet screws you will only find it HIDDEN on the top shelf. Being 6′ tall I am just a little to short to see it.
Now you will find the tape measures with the other tape measures so someone was thinking there !
Menards has some weird layouts, and they are different between stores. When I lived in Bay City (MI) I knew where every thing was. Moved to Bridgeport and found different layouts between the Bay City, Saginaw, and the Clio stores. Makes it confusing on shopping going between Clio and Saginaw stores because I forget where stuff is located at which store. Neither store has an advantage because they are about the same distance away (time wise), either shorter and deal with city traffic (Saginaw) or further away and use the expressway (Clio or Bay City). All are about 20min drive.
I did it myself. I used Woodglut woodworking plans for this.
Thanks for the great info sir. BTW, what is the surface composition of the table you were using? It looks like hardboard. Is it underlaid with something thicker and sturdier such as MDF or plywood?
Thanks again 🙂
Same situation at my Menards. I went there last week to look for MagShims because they are listed on FastCap’s website as a dealer. I saw the tape measures, but that’s the only FastCap product I could find in 20 minutes worth of looking.
The hardware employees weren’t familiar with the FastCap name. I had a strong suspicion there were more products there. I didn’t think about the hobby section! Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you. I’ve honestly not been to a Menard’s yet. Usually my local Home Depot gets most of my business. I will probably go now though…
I just learned about Fastcap. I live in Texas and there are no Menards. Any other retailers carrying Fastcap that you are aware of?
